Posteroanterior Reconstruction for the Treatment of Pseudarthrosis in Ankylosing Spondylitis

Abstract

|
This is a case report of surgically treated pseudarthrosis in anklyosing spondylitis. She had initially been treated with posterior fusion without anterior column support. Implant failure, pseudrathrosis and sagittal imbalance have developed. A posterior-only construct will eventually fail when the anterior column support is not addressed in the repair of pseudarthrosis in anklyosing spondylitis. The patient was treated with posterior osteotomy and anterior reconstruction.
